He completed his advanced laparoscopic fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in 1999. Shortly after leaving Mt. Sinai he founded the Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery program at St. Peter’s University Hospital with Dr. Robert Brolin.
Dr. Andrei became Director of the Bariatric Surgery Program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital until January 2004, at which point he moved to private practice. Dr. Andrei has performed over 5,500 Weight Loss Procedures including Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding (including LAP-BAND® and Realize Band™), Gastric Bypass, Gastric Sleeve, Duodenal Switch and revisional procedures. Dr. Andrei is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and is a designated Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence surgeon.
