Walk The Walk with Dr. Andrei
10,000 Steps a Day- So What? Who Cares?
“I care,” says Dr. Andrei.
The average person walks 3,000 to 4,000 steps a day; that is 1 1/2 – 2 miles a day, and after COVID that number is even lower.
Right now, if you commit to walk your way up to 10,000 steps a day, or 5 miles, you will be in the ideal zone for your health and weight!
- A study in JAMA Neurology found that walking 10,000 steps a day was linked to less heart disease, stroke, heart failure, and 13 types of cancer.
- Another study reported in the NY Times, found that people who walked 8,000 steps a day were half as likely to die prematurely from heart disease or from any other cause as those who only accumulated 4,000 steps a day.
- Additionally, people lose 1 pound a week simply by completely 10,000 step each day, if their caloric intake remains the same.
We are stronger together! So, let’s start our march towards 10,000 steps a day on May 20th with Walk the Walk with Dr. Andrei and have a chance to win a brand new apple watch!
